Burlap {or mesh} Wreaths

Our friend Meagan took over one of our craft classes and taught us how to make these AWESOME burlap wreaths....we made all sizes, shapes and colors...we might have gone a LITTLE crazy, but they all turned out SO cute! Because Meagan already wrote up all the instructions, I'm just going to refer you to her post. Find instructions HERE. {NOTE: we did NOT end up using the safety pins to pin the ribbon together, just hold it together, it works fine...also, we found that the wreath looks more consistent if you use a zig-zag pattern on the wreath form, going from the inside to the outside and back again...so put one inside, one in the middle, one on the outside, back to the middle, then the inside, repeat....you get the idea.}. If you want some pictures, HERE is another tutorial with the same idea she just didn't make hers as full as we did. {Let me know if you have any questions}

My only addition is to make sure you count your loops {6-8 works best} and make them approx the same size so your wreath looks uniform. Here is a close up of the zip ties. As you can see, if you leave them a little "loose" you are able to adjust the loops before you tighten them up and make it "final".

Because it turned out SO cute in the burlap, I decided to try it in this awesome mesh. {purchased at Hobby Lobby}. You will need 2 of these {60 feet} total to make it full like mine.

You use the same idea to make this one, EXCEPT you need about 12 loops in each section of the wreath form. It will seem like it's not full enough, but when you are finished it will be. I added a big piece of candy, a big green bow and a bunch of Christmas picks. {just secure everything with zip ties too}. I LOVE how it turned out!

Thanks Meagan for all the fun wreaths! Now go make you one....or ten! ;)

Give Thanks!!

What a wonderful time of year!  I am so grateful for the many things I have been given, especially my ability to create fun and beautiful things.  I am grateful for fun children that keep me on my toes and a wonderful husband who provides for our family.  I know I could go on and on but I thought I would keep it short and simple today.

I have been wanting to make this since I bought the vinyl last week, I finally had a minute to pull out my Cricut machine and make it.  I used the cartridge Lyrical Letters since I love that cartridge.   It also had the Thanks already together so I didn't have to link them.  I put it on the back of my "Happy Haunting" block and so now I have a multiple use block - LOVE THAT!!!

Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving - my sister is traveling today to my house and so we are going to have our Thanksgiving dinner on BLACK FRIDAY - I hope that isn't too crazy.  I never have a desire to go shopping on Black Friday so it doesn't matter to me what day we have it - just that I can spend it with family.

Mini Fabric Pumpkins

After making some more fabric pumpkins for our craft group class I figured I would make a couple of these cute pumpkins.  They are not very big.  I found the idea on Family Fun crafts.  They are super easy and don't require much then a scrap of fabric, thread and a stick from outside.  I think my circle I began with was about 9 or 10 inches.  They turned out pretty cute.  I haven't glued the sticks in yet but they seem to be holding.  They used a plastic bag to fill the pumpkins but I chose to use the stuffing I used to make our pumpkins.

Do you like them?  I sure do.  Although I need to stop making pumpkins and fall decorations, I am running out of room to put them.  I may have to look through what I have and get rid of some things.  Oh, well, it is so much fun to make things like this.

FaLL{ing}

Really....I do feel like I am falling.....farther and farther behind.....I've got to catch up.... I have hardly done anything "creative" this fall....

I did make this wreath this morning. I found the idea HERE.

Just to get your CREATIVE JUICES going....or maybe mine....I pulled out some of my projects from last year, and I thought I would share some cute fall decorating ideas.....First of all, get some vinyl. It's super easy to decorate with and very inexpensive! I cut mine out with my Cricut.

Trick-Or-Treat Blocks {Designed my me} Using 2x4 Scraps and Scrapbook paper

Next you can make a "Happy Haunting" sign...From www.writings-onthewall.com again with scrap 2x4's. {don't ever throw out your scraps!!}

Then you can add cute spiders to your walls.....

Or, if you want more wood....make pumpkins out of 4x4 fence posts.... Just paint orange and attach stems {branches} and raffia. Super fast and easy.

And, if you are feeling very adventurous....and want to sew here are a few sewing projects....

Fabric Pumpkins found at THE IDEA ROOM

Or a Halloween Table runner....{tutorial found HERE}

Or maybe a cute fall wall hanging....

Hope you have been inspired to use your creativity!!!
