For those with out a fireplace mantel to put your stockings on, we have the perfect solution. A wooden sign with the cute saying . . . "the stockings were hung . . . " This was another project from our craft group last year. We did them in a variety of ways.
Like this one with stars above the nails. . .
Or this one with stars on the ends and a 3 foot board . . .
We had a lot of fun painting, sticking vinyl on our boards, sanding and banging those nails in. Hope they don't mind I posted some pictures of them hard at work. The boards were the same size as our Family Home Evening boards that we have made in the past and so they could hang them in the same place during December.
I love these! We do not have a mantel and this is just the solution I've been searching for. I know this probably seems like a basic question, but where do you get your wood boards?
ReplyDeleteMy husband cuts them and adds the edge to them in our garage. We have many tools and it makes it nice he is so good to me and helps me with our projects.
DeleteWhat is the size on the one that holds seven pegs? Where do you get the vinyl?
ReplyDeleteLucky gal Amy to have such a crafty husband! :) I do have a question. Can any cricut cut vinyl?
ReplyDeleteYes, Amy is lucky to have her hubby to cut all the wood...and I'm lucky to live so close to her so I can get some for me. Yes, any Cricut can cut vinyl. Most vinyl comes with instructions, you will need to change the pressure so it doesn't cut all the way through your vinyl and just makes a "kiss cut" through the vinyl only and not the paper backing. {Hope that helps}
DeleteIs there anywhere to buy the vinyl since I don't have a circuit?
ReplyDeleteI am sure you can find it around, but I am also able to cut one for you. It would be $4 plus shipping. I would include the words and the stars if you need it. Let me know if you would like one. I am cutting another one for a friend this week and could easily cut two. I tried to contact you but there is not a linked email in your profile.
DeleteThanks,
Amy
Do you still cut the vinyl? And/or do you sell the pre made ones? Please email me at christinakd@gmail.com
